Curly hair, frizzy hair, kinky hair

Curly hair or wavy hair, "textured" hair is more than ever in fashion, it is assumed, claimed! But be careful, this hair requires specific care and products! This is where our products dedicated to curly, wavy or frizzy hair (all hair types) come in, specially designed to meet their unique needs and textures. With particular attention paid to the scalp , dry hair and dull hair , our range of care products made in France .

Special feature of curly hair:

For a few years now, the trend has been to accept your hair type. No more hair straighteners, we want natural! More and more brands have developed ranges designed especially for all hair types , in order to respond to their problems and enhance them. It has never been easier to have beautiful, bouncy, shiny, healthy curls.

The hair transition:

The transition period can take weeks or even months. It takes time for hair to regain its natural nature and beauty, and you may be tempted to give up on continuing your transition. But I promise, you will be delighted in the end! Maintaining curly hair , wavy hair or frizzy hair is not an easy task. Often unruly and lacking in hydration (damaged hair, dull hair or hair lacking suppleness), it is difficult to tame them. But why? Their spiral shapes (more or less tight) or S shapes for wavy hair make them naturally more fragile and drier than straight hair . The sebum that hydrates the hair (from roots to ends) has more difficulty reaching the lengths. As a result, the hair is less nourished and less protected from dehydration. The curlier the hair , the more difficult it is for sebum to hydrate the lengths, which makes it dry and brittle by nature.

With this reputation, curly to wavy hair requires a tailored routine to nourish, combat frizz and add definition.

How do I know my curl type?

It is not always easy to know your hair type. Andre Walker, a famous hairdresser known for styling the biggest stars like Oprah Winfrey, enlightened us on the subject thanks to his classification of hair published in his book "Andre Talks Hair" in 1997. He determined 4 categories according to the type of hair with each 3 subcategories A, B and C which define the thickness of the hair and the curliness of the hair :

Styling care: the last step of a successful routine

Use a leave-in treatment and/or a styling product . These products are essential to seal in moisture, protect, nourish and define curls for several days. Combine them to enjoy the benefits of each. Some products are 2 in 1. They will offer the benefits of a leave-in by nourishing and protecting, and offer those of a styling product by defining the curls and giving them bounce, however, they are less effective for the hair than the combination of products with a specific action.

Styling and leave-in products can come in the form of cream. The hair will be nourished, hydrated and protected against dehydration. The curls will be defined and frizz will be a distant memory. It is applied to wet hair , focusing on the ends. To define and enhance the curls , use the scrunching method, which consists of pressing the lengths towards the roots using your hands to draw the curls . Thanks to this technique, the curls are drawn and bouncy in just a few minutes!

How to brush curly or wavy hair?

It is not advisable to detangle your curly or wavy hair daily. This breaks the curls , develops frizz and gives unwanted volume with a "frothy" effect . After shampooing and as a general rule, it is best to use a wide-toothed comb or a suitable brush, both of which are specially designed to separate the curls without breaking them. It is possible to brush them during or after applying the mask , on wet hair and not on dry hair in order to avoid the dreaded frothy effect . Detangle your hair gently from the ends to the roots to avoid the accumulation of knots. You can detangle them upside down to give nice volume and encourage the formation of curls from the roots. Detangling has never been so easy!

How to dry curly or wavy hair ?

To wring out and dry your curly or wavy hair and frizzy hair , forget the usual bath towels and take out your most beautiful microfiber or bamboo towel known for being more delicate with your hair . You can also use a cotton t-shirt. One thing to avoid: rubbing your hair with the towel, as this promotes breakage. After completing your routine and applying your styling product , simply dab your hair with the towel to absorb excess water, then wrap your hair . To do this, simply place your towel on a flat surface, then tilt your head over it to place your hair in the center. Then fold it over the back and sides of your head, then roll the sides to create twists on either side of your head. Then tie the two twists at the back of your head with an elastic band. Keep the towel on for at least 30 minutes, then remove it gently. We then recommend that you let your hair finish drying in the open air and not use a hair dryer to avoid drying it out and breaking the curls . If you are short on time, use a diffuser with cold or warm air. Using the latter is essential to respect the dynamics of your curls and avoid weakening them.

What is a curl activator ?

A curl activator or also called curl definer is a leave-in hair care product to define curls. It is suitable for wavy, curly, frizzy or frizzy hair that is naturally drier and lacking in nutrition. It allows you to obtain perfectly defined, more supple and silky curls. Your hair will be nourished, soft and shinier! Depending on your preferences, a curl defining spray is quick and easy to apply and a curl defining cream will soften the hair fiber of thicker hair.

How to reform your curls naturally ?

To enhance your curls naturally, we recommend adding a natural curl definer to your hair routine. On a daily basis, you can apply a small amount of curl definer to all of your slightly damp or dry hair. It is recommended to use it once or twice a week, on the day of your shampoo, in sections. To obtain the best results, make sure to distribute the product well and work each strand.

To have naturally beautiful curls, scrunch your hair (spring movement from bottom to top) after applying a curl definer for curly hair. After air drying or using a diffuser, your hair will keep its natural texture and movement. Using a curl definer for frizzy hair, you can create hairstyles like the Wash and go or the finger coil. Two foolproof techniques to reform your curls!
